I am So grateful that I was allow to join this very significant meeting that I believe will bring some great imput in making this solidarity more effective as possible. As promised I am sending a very summary of what is the price of the more stable food in Haiti.
one 25 KG sack of rice cost USD31 but poor haitian family buy their rice by cup which is about 0.5KG. that is for the price of USD 0.75 and this is enough for only 2 persons if mix with one cup of beans that is for around the same price. So in a family of four the very basic main meal that haitian mostly eat at noon will cost at least USD5.00, this is to help you understand the situation that is currently even worst than it was before the food riot on april. Hope this help you understand the life of millions of our brothers and sisters who are living with less than USD2.00 in a day.May your prayer be still with these people and may your action can grow day after day to save lives of the less fortunate that are our neighbor in this world.
